Second Nature jargon dictionary
Monday- On Monday we packed up all of our camping stuff and were ready for hiking, we were on a "fast and furious breakfast" because we were having trouble making times for meals however we still didn’t make time. During crushing and sifting the coal pit, D’s dad came for a surprise visit. After we had 2 goodbye groups, one for B. and one for R. After that, we went on a hike. When stopped for lunch, an old couple stopped and asked if we were lost, not aware that we were in the program. After, in the hike, it was time for B. and R. to go. After that, we went to our camp site, collected wood, had dinner. C. had a group on Respect then we went to bed.
Tuesday- On Tuesday we woke up for breakfast and we had a very long p-time. The therapist's car broke down so the new staff arrived first. She arrived about a half hour later. After the staff left, we had dinner. After, we had N’s Impact Letter group, then we went to bed.
Wednesday- On Wednesday we had D’s goodbye group in the morning, we were all sad that he had to leave but he earned it. After, we had session with Jen and had p-time - most of us were responding to our parent’s letters. After Jen left we had busting time, had dinner and had BD’s Impact Letter group.
Thursday- On Thursday we woke up and had a “block time” of 2 hours and 15 to eat breakfast, crush and sift, foot check, and packs on. We went over time by 1 hour and had a consequence because the group kept getting off task and socializing and non-serious things. We had a hike after all. N was struggling on the hike. After we set up our shelters and had p-time. Later after dinner we had a group and questions on D’s Fears & Insecurities assignment.
Friday- On Friday we had a hot breakfast and had a block time again. We then had crushing and sifting but with a twist. It was split into 2 different teams and whoever got their side of the pit done first got a positive consequence. After we had a pack drill this was because we did not follow directions for a camp sweep (because none of us listened to directions to have packs on but instead we sat around talking and not paying attention to time.) We had to take everything out of packs and put them all back in 8 minutes, no one made time and for every second we went over the student would get 1 minute of task talk. During our hike, we got 2 new Earth Phasers.
Saturday- On Saturday we had a last call day. We had p-time, a great lunch and D. ran a group on parents. After we had p-time and dinner, it was too late for a group so we all went to bed.
Sunday- On Sunday we woke up and packed up everything. We had breakfast and then S.'s Fire Phase ceremony. We had a goal that day: if we made all of our times we would earn whippy cocoa and have staff cook us food. Throughout the day, we made all our times. During our hike we had a group on vulnerability, where we would all write down our deepest secret and then they would be read to the group but who wrote them was not told. After we had a short hike when we got to our site we set up shelters then had S.’s life story group. Since we made all of our times staff made our dinner but it came to our attention that the latrine wasn’t deep enough. Because that was an expectation but we did not follow through on it, we could not have whippy. After all we went to bed and the week was over.
